Fact Or Fiction ...

Hey , is ur God married ?? And doesn't he have children ?? Wasn't the man seated next to Him , actually a woman ?? And wasnt he a drunkard ...because he said "Take this wine ..and share it amongst you " ??

I would first like to thank Mr.Dan Brown for creating such a big confusion ...amongst both ....I would categorically say...Christians and Non-Christians ...Thanks , because both of these groups are actually purchasing "The Bible" and making an effort to read it !! One of my friends , actually downloaded the entire Bible , and printed it ...during exam time !!
All over the world , starting from the Pope , to the lowest of the clergy members ...got so affected by the entire episode ...that there were ..I would say ..Christian FAQ sessions all over ..trying to sort out the misunderstanding created by this book .

I mean ..what the heck !! Anyone who has read the authors previous books ...one of them is .. Angels And Demons ..would have known how the author twists the story so much ...and generates one story from another ..and in the end ...abruptly wraps it up .So ?? It's purely a work of fiction !! The author however , begs to differ , saying that ..all the information is purely factual !!
Ok..heres an example ... The part where ..the Last Supper incident happened ...Jesus took a cup of wine , lifted it up and said " This is my blood .Take it and drink it all of you ." Here , wine is the symbol of blood ...that He was going to shed ...on His Cross for His people ..All throughout the Bible ..wine is used as a symbol of a covenant made between God and His people .

Sounds different ??
Yes..it sure does !! Christianity ...the religion.. is a way of life .It tells you how to love ...how to share ...how to be good human beings ..It tells you how to deal with everyday life situations ..It tells you ..to be humbled ..as there is a mightier force above you ..who does things for you .So does every other religion...Did Dan Brown forget to mention that ?

hey , gud blog...

I dont know much about Christian religion, but all i can say is that Da Vinci Code is a excellent book. though i seriously dont know whether wwhatever he has written is infact present in Gospels or he is just making it all up !! but ,he doesnt care about that .
In the end, he is printing money out of it , and nothing else matters to him !

Hi,
You probably remember me from a previous post. You talk very highly about christianity "teaching you how to live". Why not figure this out for yourself? If you need someone to teach you how to live, you're living their life, not yours. I am fully aware that this post will probably just spark an indignant outburst somewhere and not really change anything, but I still felt it needed to be said.

BTW, happy advance birthday! 21 may not be so bad, now you can eat, drink and be merry :)

No,Jim ...Your getting me wrong ...

Im not advising anyone ....

And instead ...ur proving what i'm saying through the post that ...why dont people just figure it out themselves..why do they need a book to show them how wrongly they are doing it !!!

And a chottu sa blog cannot cause an outburst newhere ...lol ... :)

Didn't even realize you were trying to make a point back there! But yeah, I think I got it at last. Perhaps this is an example of my penchant for shooting myself in the foot...

Anyway, the other part meant "an indignant outburst in your head or maybe on this blog", because I realize that someone who's religious is not going to change their minds overnight just because of one comment I left on their blog. What I mean is that I wasn't trying to change your opinions, just wanted to share mine with you.

And you seriously need therapy for overuse of ellipses (...)!

Being religious is different from "having faith " !!! And thats what i have !!

Simple !

But ya it's difficult to change me , especially a comment left on my blog :)

well...its simple - if dan brown had pointed the "good" points of christianity, would he have sold more books?

The anwer is no...simple as that. Nowhere has dan brown said everything he says is factual,he has based his hypothesis on factual things. That simply means that whatever he talks about really exists. For e.g just because he says that the Mona Lisa is a transvestite doesnt mean that she is(but the mona lisa is for real!)!!!
Its just a guess that he has cooked up from evidence that MIGHT point in that direction.

Seriously,If you want to prove something, you can distort even the flimsiest, the teeeniest tiniest weeeniest of proof to support your argument.
But people need to realise that its a work of fiction. Both sides, those for the book and those against the book need to take life a little less seriously...who in their right mind decides somethin based on a goddamn fiction book!!!!

p.s. angels and demons kicks da vincis code's ass into oblivion!!!

hey nithin ,
read the front page of the book ..it says ...that the book is purely factual !!!

Another point that , i wanted to get through here was " What's all the confusion about ? " !!

Maybe u dont know ...but the kind of arguments people in church had with the priests there ..really threw me outa proportion !! I mean , these were one of those hard-core , sunday-church-regularly-going Catholics !!

All this , for a work of fiction ... Not worth it !!

Religion and faith are always the best means to make money... Politicians, Authors and many common ppl use this every delicate and sensitive issue "RELIGION" to mint money. Ppl no matter what religion the only way to be haapy is live a life not just for urself but also for others...esp. for ppl who love you.

Dan Brown is a jerk !! Religious sentiments are better left untouched. Just learn to do good... there is more to life than money :). I have read the book... N yes he is an amazing story teller who can take neone for a ride.

God Bless you all!!
